Well, the bromance is officially over.

Who saw this coming?...everyone I think.

It was only a matter of time before Elon Musk and President Trump’s relationship blew up faster than Elon's SpaceX Starship rockets.

But maybe we didn’t expect it to end so quickly, and so publicly.

Elon Musk resigned from his government role as head of DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency), but he also put President Trump’s latest trillion dollar spending bill on blast for all to see.

Elon’s Mic Drop

After just 130 days as the head of DOGE, Elon resigned. Reports suggest he was frustrated with how little actual “efficiency” was happening.

He then lit the political fuse on X by calling Trump’s shiny new $4 trillion spending bill a “disgusting abomination,”.

He warned the bill would “bankrupt America,” which is saying something coming from a man whose companies are experts in both rockets and burning cash.

Trump Fires Back

Not to be outdone, Trump responded with the calm diplomacy we all know him for.

He called Musk disloyal, ungrateful, and hinted that he might remove government subsidies for Tesla and SpaceX.

“If he doesn’t like my bill, maybe we don’t like his rockets,” Trump reportedly told aides, possibly while rage-scrolling through Musk memes.

This is the same Trump who once called Musk “a great genius” and offered him a top-level cabinet role.

Tesla gets hurt

Tesla shares nosedived over 14% in a single day, erasing nearly $150 billion in value.

Investors are spooked.

Not by the tech, not by earnings reports, but by the possibility that Musk might pick another Twitter fight and accidentally tank the Nasdaq.

If 2025 wanted to be a comedy series, it’s succeeding. Tune in next week when Jeff Bezos is appointed Secretary of the Moon and Mark Zuckerberg challenges the Supreme Court to a cage match.
